Welcome to the second annual Garrett Black Baseball Camp where we will combine baseball, community and cause to honor a child who gave us more than we could ever give back. The proceeds of this camp will fund the Garrett Black Memorial Scholarship which is awarded annually to a graduating senior Canes baseball player. Campers will learn, train and compete as baseball players while having a blast in the process. The early part of the day will consist of slick fielding fundamentals, base-running speed courses, and batting practice all over the Cartersville Baseball complex. After the lunch break, we will give the campers a chance to compete against their peers and apply what they have learned in fun events and competitions. Throughout the day, the campers will be interacting and receiving instruction from former Cartersville Canes: current MiLB shortstop with the Los Angeles Angels, Connor Justus, and former Reinhardt University catcher and current CHS baseball pitching/catching coach, Asa Williams. Members of the current CHS baseball team will also be assisting with instruction.
Cost of camp: $75 (includes all camp activities, lunch provided, and Always Remember Garrett rubber bracelet)
Optional t-shirt add on: $25 (sizes Youth XS-XL, Adult S-3XL) - *T-shirt option will close January 3 to allow for printing prior to camp date*
* Payment is due on day of camp - cash or checks accepted. All checks should be made to Cartersville Schools Foundation.
We look forward to having you join us on this special day in remembrance of Garrett!
